Anyone know if there will ever be a 19 inch drag radial ? Seems like there missing out on a big market. Anyway, just bought my first corvette...and 08 by the way and i wanted to drop it off at ECS and do a blower on the car but if theres no way to plant the power whats the sense ? Plus i really don't want to buy new rims after dropping 50 grand.
First of all, a big reason no drag radial is developed is because of lack of sidewall...a soft compound drag radial might come out eventually, but nothing yet.
Second, I wouldnt advise driving around on drag radials everyday...did it for a couple years and it's pretty scary.
If you want a blower you're going to need some good street tires, so start looking into fitting an 11" wheel under your car or doing the widebody rear so you can fit some 325+ rubber under there.
I agree that there is no point of installing a supercharger/turbocharger if you choose to stay at the 285 tire size.
Not and everyday car. It might see 1,000 miles a year on it. I guess i see your point with the sidewalls....never really thought about that. Been racing turbo buicks too long....HA ! But thanks for your insight. Guess i will have to see whats out there for wheels and tire combos and what looks nice and works well and how the car will sit. Not even sure where to start ! I knew this car would become my new drug !
