Default Remote Starter?

Does any one have a remote starter. I email Viper to see if they made one & they responded.

Hello Lou,

The module that will be used for the Corvette, 1101T is the one you will use.

Please contact Technical if you have any questions.

I have seen this question brought up several times on this forum. Everyone always says "do not put a remote starter on a C6". I do not have one and do not plan to install one.

Yeah, my boss at work has one on his Dodge Ram. I always thought it was cool. We work nights, so it's nice to be able to warm up your vehicle and have it ready to go by the time you actually clock out to leave.

I've also been wondering if this could work on a Vette.

It can be done on manual trans, just gotta find the right people/company to do it. I believe it may not be legal in some states / allowable by some installation companies because of possible liability, but keep searching. Check for Best Buys/Circuit City's (probably a no) but I do know someone out in this area who had a Tweeter Center do it on a manual trans car.

I surely don't know the answer, but I thought they could only be used on auto trans. I know the ones they sell for any other car are usually stated to use only on automatics.

The Viper will work, one of your fobs has to be used and it stays in the car. It is supposedly disabled so it can't be stolen and used independently of the Viper system. Need a competent installer or good knowledge yourself. Fellow that runs a shop in Lawrenceville, Ga. installed one in his '05. I declined the offer to put one in my Vette, even though all my other vehicles have/had remote start.

The 1101T is just the Key Bypass, it uses 1 of your FOB's to trick the car into starting.

The real issue is what system you decide to get, I am thinking about getting one myself, probably the Viper 5202V Responder LE.

I was told because of the push button start that you couldn't install one?

It's hard ... not impossible ... we have one on our 07 Nissan Altima, which has a similar keyless system. The only thing is that there is a custom Nissan bypass that makes it all a lot easier than the 1101T from DEI.

Deff doable on an auto. For a 6spd you should be able to pull it off just not on the 05, unless you can figure out how to somehow trick the computer into thinking the car is in reverse when you park it so the computer shuts off and the what not

I installed one on an auto C6 when they first came out
