Default Window valet -- what fun!!

I got the window valet in the mail yesterday from Southern and had it installed about 1 minute after opening the box....(its so TINY!!) In the pictures I had imagined it somewhat bigger...its less than an inch across!!
I played with the windows-up and down and up and down....set the arming for the door handles and the parking brake unlock.....this morning when I left for work, the battery charger still showed charging!!

It will be SO nice on a hot summer day to walk away from the car, and be able to both lock it AND roll up the windows, and then walking toward the car to unlock it AND roll down the windows....no waiting to get out until we roll up the windows..........no indexing everytime we get in and out of the car...........Excellent product -- this is the way the car should have come from the factory. I wonder how many GM would sell if it was a $139 option?

I love mine, it great in Florida to have the windows rolled down before you get in the car to release some of the heat.

Does it do auto-up from the window switches inside the car? If I recall correctly it does not. I sure wish it did - I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Don't think so, but once in the car, before you start it, you could raise the windows with the remote-- I know, not what you had in mind.......

You mean it doesn't have an autodown feature for the windows from the key fob? Wow my cars since 2002 have all had that. Toyota's and Nissans. I guess I will miss that feature unless I add this.

You should do so....like I said, Southern Car Parts has them on sale right now, and this IS the way the car should have come from the factory (that, and auto up of course........).
The arming of the door handles when the car is locked is a nice feature, as well as the ability to unlock the doors by applying the emergency brake (so your passenger can get out) is another ability of the product........Installs in 2 seconds too....nice!

I know what you mean....I was all excited telling my 30 yr old son about my new addition to my 'Vette, and he informed me that he could do the same thing on his 2002 Altima with his remote.....oh, well!

Has there been any problems with the Dealers voiding warranties with this item installed? It appears it installs into the OBDII port and alters some of the programming in the car.

I wouldn't think so -- you can take it out in less than a second by reaching under the dash.....I am not sure that the dealer could ever tell that it had been there, unless the OBDII system logs it somehow....

Just ordered one, but it said it was $149 with free shipping rather than $139... Oh well, either way, I can't believe I didn't know about this sooner. This will be GREAT on hotdays, especially with the transparent top on.

It doesn't alter anything according to the manufacturer.

All it does is listen for certain activity and then acts on it.

Yeah my 05 Accord coupe would roll down the windows from the fob, but it still wouldn't roll them up.

To me the roll up feature is almost as important when parking in a tighter space because of the curve in the windows.

Give Southern a call, he will honor the discount....or send him a PM with your name...I am sure he will make it right. He's a GREAT supporting vendor here.........
