I was about to wait till 2009 to buy a Vette but I figured I might as well do it as I can.
Here is what I ordered from my local dealer (Forum dealers were in the same ballpark for price but I just went with a local dealer I've been a customer with for a while).
2008 Coupe 4LT
Atomic Orange
Sienna Interior
Auto Trans
NPP Exhaust
Dual Roof
Grey Comp Wheels
F55
Performance Axle
Now the pain starts of waiting 6-8 weeks.
I didn't take Museum Delivery due to our distance (live in Utah) from BG and that we are going to Ohio this summer anyways. I talked to Lori at the Museum and she said I can still do the VIP Buyer's tour but of course my Vette won't be there.

Uhhh, not sure we are thinking in the same terms but if you do the $350 Buyer's Tour you get to see your car get built (usually). If we are thinking of different tours then my apologies.
Congratulations!!!! That is way cool. I know you've been waiting for (probably) an '09, like me.

From what Lori from the museum told me, it is available to all Corvette owners. There is the delivery tour which everyone knows about, the buyer's tour (where you can see your car being built or go after you received it at home) and a tour where you can bring your Vette to the museum. They'll clean it up and put it on display in the museum.
This info is all on the museum's website.
I was looking for an 09 but they already have the options/colors I want, plus I'm sure there will be a price increase (probably $1500-3000). I have never seen AO/Sienna in person however I have seen red/linen and I love the way the 4LT interior looks. I know it is a debateable option but I personally think it is worth the invoice price above the 3LT ($2900) or $2300 above the two tone.
I however didn't want the NAV because to me it is not worth $2k ($1500 invoice plus around $500 for a decent CD changer). I just plan on mounting my GPS in the home-designed cup mount that a member here invented.
The wait will be a killer. I hope it is snow/raining for the next 6 weeks or so. That way I won't feel too bad.
How long does it usually take to get a VIN anyways? I know it varies from dealer to dealer.
Congratulations! The 6-8 weeks shouldn't be bad. My Z has been at my house since late January and I will not be able to see it until I return from Iraq sometime this summer!
