Two Tone Interior Question
Getting ready to order a 2008 vert. Exterior color will be either CRM or VR. I want the two tone interior option for something different (all previous vettes had the ebony interior). I like the contrast. I have to decide on either the red/ebony or the titanium/ebony interior. My question is: How hard is it to keep the titanium seat inserts clean? I once had a DD with gray seats that showed alot of wear and dirt over the years I owned the car. I found it impossible to keep the seats clean.
Color choices would be either VR with the red/ebony or CRM with the titanium/ebony interior. I think the titanium/ebony is nicer looking but I am very concerned with keeping them clean and new looking over time. Any comments?

I know the GM cashmere floor mats are worthless. Do yourself a favor and buy door sill guards.

I had the ebony/titanium on my '07. There is no problem keeping the seat surfaces clean. Most of the dirt and wear is concentrated on the outer portions of the seat in any event. A quick wipe with any decent cleaner every now and then is sufficient to keep it looking good. I miss that feature on my '08 (I have cashmere), it really looks nice.

The titanium/ebony looks great whether you put it with the CRM or VR. Titanium isn't difficult to keep clean but you have to stay on top of it. You can't let it actually get dirty. I use Zaino Leather Cleaner and Leather in a Bottle after the cleaner at least twice a month, or more depending on how much I use the car. It's a piece of cake.
If you haven't considered the titanium/ebony with VR may I suggest you check it out. I think it's pretty sharp. Here is a recent thread, check out Rick Conti's post, #6, for some nice pics:

I have the Cashmere / Ebony seats and I haven't had a problem.
IMO CRM with Titanium / Ebony is the way to go.
Get a good leather cleaner and conditioner, I use the Zaino brand.
One tip, get the Ebony floor matts from Lloyds.

I wouldn't get two tone red interior with Victory Red. If I were getting exterior with two tone red interior it would be Crystal red exterior.

2-tone Ebony/Tit here as well... I like having Tit's in my car, occasionally .
Seriously though, I guess my style is a little too conservative for a red interior. Though certainly more DRAMATIC and stunning - it could be viewed by some as a bit of red overkill when paired with a red exterior. But - this is HIGHLY subjective, so YMMV...
I felt that titanium really coordinates well with all the real aluminum interior & dash accents that are now standard in the '08's.
And, before ordering my car, I noticed the all-titanium (not 2-tone) driver's seat bolster on a vert at the dealership was ALREADY looking thread-bare and soiled after sitting in the showroom for only 6 months. This was just with showroom customers getting in and out of it and taking a few test drives. Obviously, these vinyl bolsters are not the 'best' quality, and can't really stand up to many years of bluejean-clad fatbodies getting in and out....
That convinced me that having Ebony on the bolsters would show this kind of regular wear much less, and would be easier to deal with if it did. Meantime, the titanium leather seat centers still offer that nice contrast that I felt was needed in the interior. I would still recommend trying to avoid 'sliding down' the bolsters when slipping into the seat.
Again, this is all very subjective, so get what will make YOU happy....

I really don't think you'll go wrong. Y2K, Steve's, your choice. Personally, I think the ebony/titanium will look sharp and the titanium isn't hard to keep clean. See Rick's suggestions on keeping on top of it, tho.

[QUOTE=Y2K3CL-S;1564263694]I think it's hard to beat this combination with a CRM exterior.
I agree!
Same as mine and I love it!

I have had the titanium, cashmere, and ebony, and the lighter colors obviously show a little more, but it is easily cleaned up-it really just comes down to your preference. Good Luck & Enjoy!
