That may be a tint but it is more likely he simply swaped his white lights for black ones. Tint has got some bad press here because the heat it holds in may be the cause of crazing of the headlight cover.

Yeah... I just finished using the SEARCH function and now have bad thoughts... altho some are saying that 3M Headlight Tint is good... I don't want to risk it.
those are definitely tinted, you can see the white underneath. I have had clearbra material on my lights since I got it 2 and a half years ago, and they are just fine. go for the tinted film.
Tom, I checked the Lamin-X online store - the store section currently shows only Blue and Yellow (and clear) for the C6 headlight set?
(no gunsmoke or other tints shown on the main website there)
I have a machine silver 05 and had thought about a tint (smoke/gray, etc.) for the headlights (although leery after some stories on that causing cracks over time - plus possible VA state inspection issues if too dark)
Coming from the dim things they called headlights on my C5, I am so happy with the brightness and visibility of the lights on my C6 that I would simply never consider tinting them in any way to reduce their effectiveness.....its so nice to be able to drive at night at anything above 50 or 60 and not be overdriving your headlights!!!
JMHO.....reducing the visibility of both your car and your ability to see things at night? Kinda silly.............
