Default C6 flooding

My car's been great to me except it is known for little nagging problems that dealer cant fix. Here is the latest one. After a heavy rain storm a few days ago, my passenger floor pan is completely covered in water. From what I have heard, there is suppose to be a drain or something I have to clean out. Anyone have tips or ideas?

I thought I read this morning that for an '05 there was something about an a/c line with packing material in it. See if you can find that thread. I'll do the same, had same result as you: water on the floor.

This was not an uncommon problem on C5s. The passenger side drain tube at the firewall would clog with debris and it would overflow into into the passenger side footwell (my C5 did it). I haven't looked at the C6 drain tube there, but that's what I'd check first.

Not for nothing, having your car flooded is more than a nagging little problem. Make the dealer correct it ASAP

Dealers are useless. I am going to pay my $100 deductible and they will tell me there is nothing wrong, those guys are not very smart

Need to find a new dealer. A leak like that would be serious to me. It does sound like a drain problem. You could trouble shoot it your self. AFTER you dry your interior, put down a bunch of newspaper or the like and then turn a water hose on the windshield and get under the dash and see where the water is coming in and try to find the source.

I will do that, but it's freaking tough because it's been 20F here. It snowed and rain today, it seems to be okay. I will test again. My last RX-8 had a windshield leak, I wonder if it is that

I had a leak in the same area that took two dealers to fix it. Mine turned out to be in the passenger A pillar that needed to be seam sealed. The problem with leaks is they are sometimes hard to find where the water is entering and then fixing and retesting to make sure it is fixed. Mine was at the dealer for several days for the correct fix.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:
Customers may complain of water intrusion on the passenger floor. Or when diagnosing a vehicle for an unrelated concern, water may be noticed in the electrical center area near the passenger floor. This may be the result of an engine wire harness plugging the HVAC drain and preventing it from effectively draining the water or condensation from the HVAC case.

Recommendation/Instructions:
Inspect the HVAC drain for blockage. More specific, check the position of the engine harness especially the harness for the O2 sensor wires and move it away from HVAC drain.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

i copied and pasted the p.i for water leak on p/s floor, but since it happened in a heavy rain i would check the cabin filter door and cabin filter to see if its wet. if it isnt i would see if there is a "water doctors" franchise in your area. we use them and their kill ratio for water leaks is 89 percent or so.

I have water dripping onto my passenger floor when I wash the car. It's dripping from near the right side glove box hinge. From there it drips on the kick panel and onto the floor mat and carpet on the right side. Someone here mentioned their A-Pilar was leaking. That would be my guess as to where mine is leaking.

I finally have the chance to play with the car tonight. I first dried the interior, then I laid paper towels on the carpet. I then proceeded to dump about 4 gallons of water on the car. It seems everything is dry, so I think gaskets might be sealing properly. So I guess the only other reason would be the AC condenser or user error (left the windows or door open, which i am 99.99% sure i didnt). Any other theories or suggestions?

thanks

Freaking A, washed my car today. There were no drips into the car, but somehow the passenger carpet near the door started to become wet. Do you guys have any idea of what it might be?

I will look for the drain tomorrow when the car is on a lift. It's impossible to get to it from the hood

My C6 had the same problems after insisting they tear all the interior out and look for a crack in the floor pan. So they agreed after looking at all the drain tubes bc they were all clean and they realized that there was a seam in the floor that needed to be seam sealed. Have your local dealer check this and it was covered under warranty
