I thought there was a radar detector that would automatically feed information into a data base. It is based on a GPS of where the radar detector picked up the radar.
Can someone help me out? I can't remember all the details.
The Escort 9500 actually does something quite useful but opposite of this with GPS. It remembers locations of radar alerts that you do *not* want, i.e. blocks out. That way the pesky false you get every morning passing the grocery store automatic door radar will get blocked.
"WARNING! You are now entering a speed trap zone."
check out www.trapster.com. It's not a Web site. it's a real time speed trap sharing system for mobile phones that also happens to have a Web site. Feel free to help out and add the known locations you are aware of, but the real value of the system is live reports. You can use it with a GPS or WiFi mobile phone, or by calling a toll free number and getting SMS alerts.
In fact a feature was just added (at user request) to filter *out* audio alerts for red light cameras, speed cameras, and usual hiding places (aka known speed trap locations)... because they are nuisance alerts You already know where those are - heck, you probably are the one who put them in! :-).
