Did you ever get a question about eating donuts while operating the control panel?
Yes I did.
Not donuts, because that is a "so-called cop thing", but other wonderful "junk" food. And for all of you law enforcement personnel out there, I have no intended disrespect, as I was also a prison guard in my past. I have been there and have the utmost respect for what you do.
However,
What is better to keep you alert and engaged than a Quarter Pounder with Cheese and super-sized fries? Better yet, two of 'em.
But step back from the panel while you eat. And be ever vigilant for problems and be willing to drop the QP and take control if the need arises. If you can't drop the QP, you are out of here.
Basic training 101.
Great question, loved it. All kidding aside, my entire heart was in that job. Even when I had good friends that I had to wash out of the program. You either got it in you or you don't. Some things you can learn, others not.
Another huge departure was my color choice. Velocity Yellow. I never would have dreamed of owning a yellow car. But for some reason it looks so perfect to me on a Corvette.
