My '05 Corvette has been in storage now since November, it is hooked up to a battery tender and is under cover.
Occassionally, I'll go inside just to make sure everything is okay. This past weekend, I went in and my Navigation screen would not turn on when I put the car into accessory mode. In the past, I've had no problems with it not coming on. Also, I read on here once that there is a fan that constantly runs and that's the case with mine, too. (Will get that looked at/fixed when I take car into dealership for oil change in April).
My question is, what could be the reason the screen appears blank? All the functions work on it (CD player, radio) but it's the fact that nothing appears on screen. Any ideas? Just a fluke?
You may have inadvertently turned the screen off. With the unit turned on and while in "Accessory" mode, try pushing the hard button to the left of the screen with the musical note / TV screen icons (4th button from the top). This will give you a screen with the screen set-up menu. Select "AUTO" and you should be back in business.
Actually it doesn't run all the time. When you open your door it starts running and will run a while after you close the door, then it will shut off. Leave the window down and come back later and check it, I'll bet it's not running then. I've had the screen issue when my car has set a while "without" a tender on it so not sure why you are seeing this. On mine, when I see this, I just drive it a few miles, turn the car off, restart and it's fine. Good luck
