I've read the various threads including Bugmans but I still have a couple of questions.
1 I can't get the plug out. I push down on the clip on top but the plug won't move. I don't want to force it. Can I do the install with the plug in? It looks like I can just push them in.
2 The instructions read the car must be running. I have an 07 with auto-dimming mirrors. Does this mean the car must be running when I insert the plugs or does it mean the detector won't work unless the car is running.
Thanks for your patience.

There was a post on just this topic recently, you might try a search. But as I remember, the plug is difficult to get out. Be sure you are pushing down on the release and wiggle and be persistant. Good luck.
you can do the install with the plug in. I recommend disconnecting your battery first.
and no the car does not have to be on for the install, but it does need to be on to power the radar.

I did my install without removing the plug. I didn't diconnect my battery, which is a good idea, but I did have the detector and cord separated so no short could accur. After I knew both leads were in the right locations, I connected my detector and put power to it. All was fine and it worked. Hurray.
