Crotch Rocket Encounter
On the way home from work today, I'm sitting at a redlight waiting to make a left turn. I glance in the rearview and see a guy on a crotch rocket behind me. I was in "S," and the paddles were ready, so I thought lets play a little. The light changed, I pulled out making the turn reasonably slowly, then lightly jumped in it. He pretty much stayed with me until we had to stop at the next light where we were both taking a right turn. I pulled out the same way again, but after the turn was completed, this time I jumped in it a little harder and a little longer, then dropped back to "normal" speed. He dropped behind, caught up, then fell back to a regular following distance. We both then continued along at a sedate pace for about another mile. I saw his turn signal go on, and right before he made his turn, he beeped and gave me a "thumbs-up wave." Pretty cool!
By the way, before I get yelled at, let me say that neither of us were driving crazy wacky; it wasn't so much how high a speed we reached as much as it was how fast we got to the speed we reached.
