There are reports of mirrors that are removed never being tight again owing to the tension springs not being able to withstand the removal process and losing tension. I don't know of a cure unless it involves a new mirror. Perhaps you could remove the mirror and shim the base on re-installation. Removal entails a 120 degree clockwise turn and pull straight back.
This happened to my car when it was only 3 mos. old. The mirror twists off. Once you have it twisted off, you will find 3 pins in the mirror mount. The pins are bent out of shape and it will only get worse until you fix it. You can take it to the dealer and they may give you a new mirror. But they may bend the new pins if they aren't careful mounting the mirror. I bent my pins straight myself. It will be pretty evident once the mirror is off. Rotten design imho.
I had my "loose" mirrow replaced under warranty after my windshield was replaced (stone) by a glass conpany. Just showed the dealer it was loose. It is fine now.
No, it doesn't rattle. I just think it's a little too easy to move. I feel like it should be a little stiffer, so it stays in place(that didn't come out right).

The car is still under warranty, so I guess I'll take it to the dealer. The truth is I was trying to avoid the dealer, because the car is in pristine condition, and I'm afraid it may not come out of there the way it entered. I have heard too many horror stories about cars being scratched, wrecked, and abused. It's sad to say, but it's true. I don't trust those guys with my pride and joy.

Not sure where in H town you are but I've heard Parkway Chevy in Tomball is a good place to take it in for service, same with Mac Haik on the Katy Freeway.

I'm actually south of Houston, but I've also heard good things about mac haik. I'm actually closer to Bill Heard Chevy, and I know he sells a lot of vettes, but I haven't heard any good things about the service dept. there.
