With thanks to dws44 for the pics and all the others I finally took that piece of junk XM out my 07 coupe and plugged in the SIR GM1. Absolutley and piece cake. It literally took longer to fill out the rebate from Crutchfield/ Sirius than it did to install. I have had Sirius in my work truck for 3 years , I tryed to hold out for the so called merge and just could not wait any longer.
Only had one bug after activation, I was only receiving the music channels,-- no Howard 100, NFL , etc. I made one call to Sirius Tech support the problem was on their end ---bottom line --fixed in 5 minutes with friendly as always Rep. Total price for unit $59.99.
I do have the Nav and works great

Don, after installing the Sirius, do you have the Sirius controls on the Nav screen? I have XM with the factory nav unit and would love to know how you switched out.
Why did you switch, Don C1? I have Sirius in my Jeep and it loses the signal A LOT! Heck, I'd lose it going under a small overpass! My experience with XM has been much more positive (wife has it in her Lexus and now I have it with the vette). I don't lose signal as often or in the same places as I do with Sirius.
I just completed the transfer from XM to Sirius (SIR-GM!) last weekend, I have a vert so it was a little more time consuming taking the waterfall out and removing the three bolts from the XM unit took a few extra minutes also.
After hooking up the Sirius, I called them and within minutes I was up and running, The screen still says "XM" on top but the screen recognizes the Sirius channels (by name).
I plugged in the antenna directly into the GM1 ans the radio works perfectly with the stock XM antennas, very minimal cut outs.....

The XM 1/ XM 2 stay the same and it still says XM at the top of the screen but the touch screen channel buttons have all changed to the Sirius channels i. e, The Pulse, Classic vinyl., etc.
Do a search for Xm to Sirius conversion at the top of the CF page, DWS 44 has excellent pics of exactly how it installs. Went out last nite and I am experiencing a few more cut outs , I am using the XM antenna I see that others are experiencing the same , I may play around with the Sirius antenna but overall , Sirius blows away XM.
I have a 08 F350 work truck with factory installed Sirius and have practically no cut outs. I am close to Annapolis and even with XM I still had cut outs there more than anywhere else. Might have to move

Steve , I just hated everything about XM, as far as the cut outs , I had a plug and play Sirius in my previous truck and would also get a rare cut out. Actually I do a lot of driving around the area and can name the few areas that I would get acut out, Annapolis being the worst the XM in the vette and My wife also has a Lexus with XM gets very poor coverage in Annapolis . When I bought my new truck with factory Sirius , if I ever hit a blank spot it is a mere split second and that is it. I will admit I am a Howard Stern and NFL channel junkie so it is Sirius for me
Interesting. Howard Stern is the single reason why I will NEVER subscribe to Sirius. He's a pompous, arrogant *** IMO.
It didn't take long for the Stern bashing to start...Congrats Don on your switch to Sirius...I have 3 units..Its the better satellite service, hands down....
I HAVE HAD BOTH AND XM IS THE PREFERED STATION AROUND MY HOUSE I HAVE IT IN MY WIFES 07 TAHOE IN MY 07 AVALANCE IN MY 07 CORVETTE AND ON MY HOME STEREO I WOULD NOT HAVE SIRUS IF IT WERE FREE HAVE HAD XM SINCE 03 AND LOVE IT http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...3/PICT1129.jpg
