Yesterday, Sunday afternoon, I washed three vehicles and waxed my Baby. (Zaino had not came in yet!) First time in several weeks it was over 75 degrees here in Mayberry. Early evening I drove out a straight, relatively flat 2-lane road just to spend some quality time with Baby. 10 miles out, 10 miles back. A nice leisurely pace on a back road. Took my time and had a nice drive. Glad I watched out for the hundreds of deer in this area. Can't be too safe on these narrow back roads.

Early evening I drove out a straight, relatively flat 2-lane road just to spend some quality time with Baby. 10 miles out, 10 miles back. A nice leisurely pace on a back road. I've not really had power under my right foot since 1979 with my Camaro. After turning around a Saturn started riding my ***. The speed limit on this highway is only 75. I pushed Baby up to 65, the Saturn became a dot in my rear view mirror. I wasn't racing but I've wondered if it could really go fast. 76 isn't fast but for someone who's only driven 55 for the past couple a dozen years, it was fast for me. Now at 65, the Saturn was slowly fading off. I could see about 2 miles ahead of me. Nothing. I pushed the RPM's up to about 3200 and held it. Oh BABY. 70 and she's begging for more. The Saturn disappeared. I never advocate speeding on a narrow 2-lane road but it's the first time I've been able to push Baby. 76 and she was begging for more. Smooth. Steady. Absolutely no vibration. It was like floating on a cloud. I Love BABY! Next time, I'll use the local speedway. It felt good but folk, never, ever, do something this stupid on a public highway. Only afterward did it occur to me that there are thousands of deer in the area. That was Stupid of me.
