Is the rear passenger side compartment in the C6 coupe the same size and position as the Z06? If so, has anyone installed a second battery in parallel with the standard battery?
Just a thought to effectively double the amp-hour capability. Even the Optima and Odyssey batteries are minor improvement on the stock battery in this regard.

Thanks!
The C6z frame has an additional welded-on battery platform to support the battery weight on the frame rail (circled in green in the pic below). The C6 coupe/convertible frame does not have this platform.
So if, for whatever reason, you wanted to add/relocate a battery to the back of a C6 coupe, you'd have to fab up a support bracket to carry the weight.
Cheers,
Kent

Thanks for the info on this, and seems the relocation will need a kit or the afore mentioned fab
Nice info Kent! The perfect picture to show the area.
The extra battery doesn't have to be as big or heavy as the main one in order to help out though. There are lots of different deep cycle batteries out there to choose from..
If you are thinking about adding another battery to support the main one you are openning a big can of electrical worms. Since batteries have an internal resistance their charge and discharge rates can be different to the point that if the main battery is detoriated it will drain the aux battery.(Unless they are matched batteries $$$$$)
If you go forward, I would suggest putting some current carrying diodes between the negative terminal of each battery and the connecting cable.
The best solution is to get a better battery than the junk delco's. Diehard is a good replacement and they make type 86 batteries.>$100 for 8 year warrenty.
