I have a Exhaust Commander on my Dual Mode Exhaust. I have it set to have the value be open all the time... I love the sound.
I have noticed though that I seem to get much better gas mileage (about 10% better) when I leave the values in the standard position (closed)
Question.. Do you get lower gas mileage with the values open all the time or is the drop in mileage because I am getting on it more because I like the sound?
I am no expert but I would think your gas mileage would improve with less resistance and the npp open. Do you have an air intake also. You need to get the air in first. Just my .02 worth.
100% not, that question came up months ago and was addressed by Dan Hall (Halltech Systems and forum tuner). If anything he said the gas mileage would improve with them open. The computers constantly adjust for the best mixture. If you were correct then all high flow exhaust system would decrease MPG. Like he said back then if anything it’s your foot on the gas that is accounting for any decease in MPG
Another thing to consider..when they are open you may have a tendency to stomp on it a little more than usual. I agree with lightening up on the left foot even though the temptation to be more aggressive due to the sound is always a factor!

I thought about the same thing when I changed to my B+B Fusion mufflers.
I felt like I was getting about half the gas mileage of before. Then I figured it out that I was Romping on it everywhere I went because it sounded was so good!
I drove though a tank conservativly driving like I used to and the gas mileage was exactly the same as before the swap.
The Exhaust Commander Switch will play no part in gas mileage issues, but the right foot does.
