so far no trouble with mine... after 15 mins or so they turn off completely... check out the end of the post below i took pictures of the ones ive been using...
I emailed the company and they said that they do use resistors in all of their products. So your good they will turn on/off work just like the stock bulbs.

I replaced the "mood light" LED and while searching at Radio Shack I found that there are different brightness LED's all in the same size. So with the 5 mm bulbs there are still choices. It isn't as easy as wattage as in regular bulbs, it has a goofy rating that is in CAMMS or something like that. Anyone know the way to figure it out? I bought 2 different ratings and don't recall if it was the lower numbered one or the higher one that actually gave more light.
NEV3R L8-
Thanks for posting this! I ended up doing the same thing you did, and love the results.
A couple notes:
- I used the SMT tower II bulb in the rearview mirror. It gives a little more light than the ones you indicated you used. It fits perfectly and is unmistakably brighter than the stock bulbs. I was not worried about having an integrated heatsink as the interior lights are ususally not on for very long.
- I used the SMT tower III (an even brighter bulb) in the footwells. This bulb is a little larger than the SMT II, and took a little finessing to get in place properly. If I had to choose again, I would reccomend using the same bulbs that you reccomend (SMTII). They fit better, and since the footwell bulbs do not have a reflective backside, put out just as much light as the bigger bulbs I used.
I am very happy with this mod! The lights are as bright or brighter than factory and turn on and off just like the factory incandescent bulbs, and I have not experienced any battery drain whatsoever.
BTW- My lights do not fade when turned off like the factory lights do. There is a very slight dimming as the voltage drops, but nothing you would notice if you were not looking for it.
are these 5mm LED's from Radio Shack direct replacement?

See, LED's seem too bright to me.. Kind of like putting in a flaurescent bulb in the garrage, just don't like it. I can't tell if those are 'white' or blue, but they do look good. I like your car collection too.. That Roush and the yellow SSR look good.
Just to warn you i'm pretty bad at this stuff lol
Any one have a problem getting out the lights from the rear view mirror? How did you guys do it? Also the light for the footwell was a little to long and was not able to put it back in place?
Ok i figured out how to get the rear view mirror bulbs out, i ended up having to break them and pull them out with pliers because they wouldnt come loose. The light on the foot wells when you remove the lens and put the light , the light is to long so you cant put it back in place. I also tried to install the light from the top but there is a black tab that prevents your from putting in the new light. Just wondering if anyone else had that problem?
