Default Final I Got It!!!!! Need Help

I just purchase my 08 C6, 3LT, Z51, NPP exhaust, Glass roof, 2.73 Slip ratio and oh yeah Auto. I paid 58,700.00 for the car. i got the dealership to throw in chrome door handles, underhood liner, full width spoiler, brushed aluminum sill plates, and body color lic. plate frame as part of the package, that's some wheeling and dealing. i get it 10-12 weeks.

I have some choices to make, i really need the help from the experts on the forum. The extra stuff, is it worth it, these are the following options i have to choose:
  1. Paint Protection 299.99
  2. Fabric and leather protection 299.99
  3. Boomerang Monitoring 1500.00
  4. Extended warranty 2500.00
  5. 3m Paint proctection, (the film) Clear Bra 699.99
  6. rust proofing ?

is this all a scam or is any of this worth it. They also charged me for gas $40.00. I really need your help guys. Please advise me. BUT I STILL GOT MY VETTE.

It's a scam for some and way over priced for the rest. The first tank of gas is free.

3m is the only thing you should definitely get. If you will have the car for a long time mabey the warranty but it already comes with a 5yr/100k drivetrain. Vettes are made of fiberglass why rust proof??

Yes, all that stuff is a scam.

Also, if that total you mentioned is before loan interest/taxes or anything like that you overpaid for the car itself. I suggest going to a forum dealer to save atleast $5,000 and get your car sooner as well. 8 weeks is a long time from a forum dealer, usually around 6 weeks. It's not too late to rethink this.

If this is CDN $, you can disregard all the overpaying stuff. I know it's a little different for you guys.

my opinion is that you paid too much for a coupe. i got basically the same package, when i bought my 07 vert, fully loaded for 58,200, msrp was 66,400. and they have the kahunnas to charge you for the gas, i would look for another deal, and another dealer, sorry but you asked us for advice.....

As others have said, don't get any of that stuff, waste of money. And you definitely seem to be paying much more than what others have paid. Look around on here and you'll see guys getting around invoice, and you are way above that.

At first I was going to ask what the heck Boomerang Monitoring was, and were you from Australia. But I googled it to see it was just a more sophisticated form of theft monitoring than OnStar. I guess the real question here is if your car is stolen, do you really want it back?

It's all ridiculously overpriced dealer fluff, like everyone else has said. Also tell them you want your $40 back for the gas.

If you really want an extended warranty send an email to gmpp@fichtnerchevrolet.com, it will save you some coin.

My opinion is that most of these are dealer separate options. The are designed for the dealer to separate you from your hard earned money. They are for the most part snake oil.

1. NO
2. NO
3. NO

4. NO You can get a GMPP Major Guard from Dennis Fichtner for half that price. They are soaking you for full retail on the extended warranty. Dennis sells them at near his cost. Send an email to GMPP@fichtnerchevrolet.com

5. Your call. Some like the clear bra protectant, some don't. I have it and am generally happy with the level of protection it offers and is basically invisible unless you are right on top of it. Depending upon what they are offering, $699 is a good price for a complete install.

6. NO

Congrats on the new car
1-
2-
3-
4- Contact Dennis Fitchner at near the end of the first year for a reasonable quote on an extended warranty.
5- By all means do it. But shop around for the best installer. The installer is the key!

I would say get your first tank of gas free and the price for the clear bra is pretty good all the other offerings are overpriced and not needed.

that's Canadian Pricing for you, i looked into buying for the States but i would have to put 6000.00 into, for the Canadian safety garbage, and the hassel, but that;s the best price in toronto, that's $500.00 over invoice. and i what it in 10 weeks, hopefully all the snow is gone. so the feeling i'm getting is that all this paint protection and fabric protection is all BS.
What should i use for the paint. What about Registration Fee they dinged me $299.

Is there any dealers in Ontario on this forum that would give me a good price. Also any Vendors for the 3M taping? Thanks for the advice, i still can't wait.

1. Absolutely NOT even if its 50 bucks don't get it.
2. Same as #1.
3. Don't know what that is
4. I bought an 07 demo 5k miles and got 5yr 60k 0 deductable bumber to bumber major guard which is the top tier gmpp for 1055. If you want to know from who PM me I will give you his info.
5. I wouldn't
6. Same as #1

FYI my buddy works at a dealership. That extra stuff is pure gravy for the dealership. They also call it snake oil. Does nothing and never will do anything. Also total cost for that whole package to the dealership is 60 bucks. Rust proofing, paint, interior protection undercoating etc...

For less than 10k more, you can get a '08 Z06 2 lz. Please do your homework before you let the dealer screw you.

btw....you don't GOT it until its in your driveway..............
