Well, after 4 and half years without a Vette, the drought is finally over! Picked up my new 08 Convertible yesterday - coincidentally the first nice weather for ages so plenty of roof-down action And torrential rain today so I can vouch for the fact that it copes very well with surface water and mild floods! And that the rear end is just as much of a dirt magnet as on the C5
I've been lurking on here for years picking up lots of useful info (so I've even managed to produce a working MP3 CD-RW!), and I want to say a big "Thank You" to GMautotech for running a VIN report for me (I didn't trust the dealer to get the spec right ) which helped me relax a little during the wait... It's a European "comfort" spec, which is pretty much 3LT, with just Nav and the wheels as options - got a good deal and GM threw the wheels in for free as it was the only VR/Ebony they had in stock in Europe.

Congrats on your great new purchase. You got the most classic color a 'Vette can possibly be offered in as well. That looks simply stunning on a vert!
Must be nice to have almost NO other 'Vettes on the road there, as I imagine they are somewhat more rare than in the states. What's the highest octane petrol you can buy there?
Does the car attract attention when you take it out?

Thanks! They are pretty rare - in fact most people have no idea what it is! It does attract a lot of looks - one guy nearly crashed this morning as he rubber-necked! (When I had a C5 a guy at a filling station was so busy looking at the car rather than where he was walking that he snapped off his fuel-flap )
Highest octane over here is 99 Octane Shell V-Power, but European Octane is rated differently so it's about the same as US Premium. And don't even ask how much it costs!
