Your totally fine...the car (non Z06) is tuned for 91 anyway so 93 is not needed... The knock sensors will slighly detuned the engine--say 30 hp --no big deal...just don't go WOT throttle for a bit...burn down 1/4 of the tank and then fill...if you do have 93 available then add it to get the octane rating up towards 91...

If your just cruising, commute to work, you will never notice the difference--and those that tell you they do are full of it...

Try to avoid any more than half throttle until you've burned at LEAST half the tank and then proceed to fill it up with 93....

If you don't have 93 in your area, then get it down to as close to empty as you feel comfortable and refill with 91!

Again, I can't stress to you, don't go over half throttle. The knock sensors will only retard timing so far and these are fairly high compression engines (for pump gasoline!!).

As mentioned before, cruising on the highway at (roughly) 1/5th throttle at around 1300-1800 RPM's you probably won't notice any difference.

Hmmmmm.....what are the chances that with the prices for gas these days there are dealers out there that do the initial fill-up using 87?

at one dealership I worked at during 2003 out on the east end of Long island, I insisted on filling up the vettes when I found out they filled up with 87 octane for delivery...so yes it does happen.

I'd bet good money that the majority of dealers use 87 octane in their in house pump.

Won't hurt anything. Computers are great. Will probably retard the timing a bit and you will lose some performance and mpg.
