Shouldn't that be the dilemma since the manual transmission was first introduced to the Corvette? The first Corvettes only came with automatics.
I went with the A6 because I have bad joints but I wasn't too crazy about the manual anyways. Skip shift (I know you can get rid of it) is a joke (but it does keep the GGT away from all Vettes) and I wasn't too crazy about the distance in the throws. The paddles on the A6 confused me at first especially when you see the radio buttons there and 1-6 next to it.
Tom,
Here is a test for you on your paddles. Go out and put the car in S, then activate your paddle shift. Now start driving, when you get out in the open shift to 2 gear and pin the throttle. Run it to 5500 RPM or above and then upshift it. You natural instinct is to pull the shift handle because momentum has you pulled back in the seat, not to push it to upshift. What we have done is seperated the handles, you pull the left handle to downshift and you pull the right handle to upshift, just like the Ferrari's and other paddle shifted cars.
Thanks

HOW do you SOLVE the orbiting (buttons going in circles when turning the steering wheel)? You know, just like GM!

I love the sound of this setup, but when the wheel is 180 degrees out of normal, it would be near impossible to determine which is left paddle and right paddle at a moment's notice... at least under the stock condition, you just have to find a paddle (either paddle) and push or pull accordingly...
