I'm a pretty level headed guy with a positive attitude and YES I do have bad days. With that said, everytime I go to my local dealership(BAST CHEVY) on Long Island, the guys are always miserable! . I feel as if I'm bothering them. Today I went to the parts department to inquirer about ordering a part and same old story. Is it that bad having a career with a dealership?. I don't mean to rant but I'm hoping someone will shed some light on this before I just go to another dealership and if anyone else has the same experience with thier dealership?. I know I should just go somewhere else but I'm spoiled having this one 2 minutes from my house. If so, can someone recommend one on Long Island NY with a better outlook?
This attitude starts at the top. If I were you, I would let the General Manager know how you feel......if you get the same response, then you know there will never be a change.
If he appears interested then maybe he can effect some changes in the attitude of his (or her) employees...........

But, in most cases it starts with the owner at dealerships. Everyone has a bad day but the dealership I use, Farrell Chevrolet in Spartanburg, SC has some top people with excellent atitudes.
As this sounds like a perminent attitude there, I wouldn't hesitate in going somewhere else. I have no patience for poor service. You spend your hard earned money there and they should be pleased, no- thrilled, that you spend it there. As previously stated I would send a letter to the General, cc'ing the dealership managers then find somewhere else that appreciates you.
Just my opinion.
Good luck.
I deal with alot of dealers in my business. It seems that some city dealers have a chip on their shoulders. I would find another dealer or try a forum dealer...good luck..

Bast service area not too friendly either. Brought my painted top in for recall fix. They insisted I had to leave the entire car. I walked out and brought just the top to Arnold Chev.

Absolutely!!! I work at a dealership and we respond/react to every customer "critique".......and we do get some strange ones. Chevy dealerships are not exactly setting sales records now and loyal customers are more important than ever.
I drive PAST a good Chev. dealer that is five minutes away to get to a GREAT Chev. dealer who is 20 minutes away and treats my business as though I am part of their family...
It seems like almost every dealership in Orange County CA has the same attitude. They definitely don't want to be bothered with warranty stuff. Irvine Power Chevrolet has actually refused to work on my car a number of times for no reason whatsoever. I for one am totally glad that I don't have any warranty left, I always take my car to a specialist (OC Corvette).
Makes you wonder why GM got so excited to announce their new 100k drivetrain warranty, they must have never tried to get service at one of their dealerships!!!
On a positive note, Connel Chevrolet in Costa Mesa has done me right plenty of times. They still have a ways to go to compete with the service I have received at Toyota and BMW...

the dealership where I got my car in CT could not have been nicer. When I went to pick up my car they had the sales and general manager meet me. Both gave me their cards and said call them if I ever have any service issues with my car. They made me feel my business was really wanted at their dealership. When I get ready to buy another vette they'll be the first people I talk with.... It ALL starts at the top..........
I've always noticed that SA and parts guys are "monotone" They sound like robots. I also notice that a lot of them have attitudes / No personality. I guess they are just miserable answering the phones.
