Been doing my polishing, Rejexing, etc. by hand forever, but, I may be interested in a buffer. I almost bought the PC a while back, but, other things were more pressing.
Is the Porter Cable 7424 (Autogeek) still the one to get. Out of all of the kits, I think the starter pad kit ($169.) may be the one I need. I don't need any of the waxes, etc. included in the other kits. They also have the "HD plus" version ($204.) that adds a 25 ft. heavy duty powercord that's directly wired into the PC.
Hope I don't get hijacked here. I posted in the "care section", as well, but wanted to get a feel from my guys here too. Anyone opposed to power buffing?
You are going to love the PC...if you have actually been getting micro scratches and swirls out by hand and not just covering them up with oily waxes/glazes like alot of the over the shelf products, you'll be amazed how quick they disappear with the PC.
There is a newer product called the IDM...which is more of a hybrid between the PC and a full rotary. Maybe look into that as well since you don't have the PC yet...
