Shaking
I picked up my 05 vert this week with only 10k on it have noticed a shaking of car when ideling mostley i could see motor shake when hood is open and my son even commented on it and asked why the car shakes (so i know its not my imagination almost like a miss or a cam but the car does not skip a beat, when reved or driving and no it does not have a cam anybody have this is it commen on the new c6 i had a 99 vert and it was smooth as silk

mine had a shake like a cam and it wasnt normal. It was an 06 a6 coupe stock. At 20,000 mi just slightly taking foot off brake it would jump up and down as it crept forward. Drive anotherone and compare. Long story shorter ; factory rep + time + engineer from bg + certified machine shop ==== buy back. 08 a6 z51 just fine.

i hope i don,t have to go through that,seeing i bought it used i,ll ask mecanic at dealer to check out when i bring it in for a couple minor issues

Did the previous owner run cheap gas? If so, a few tanks of Top Tier gas or 3-4 bottles of Techron additive should clear it up. This car should idle smooth as glass.

Maybe a mild cam in there? Besides the shaking how does it run?
Could be cheap gas. I accidentally put regular in mine once and it ran like chit.
If it is noticable then something is amiss. Take it back to the dealer for a look.

The C6 LS2 can be described as having a mild "cam lope". If you think it can be described as anything more serious than that you might consider having it looked at.

They never found out ; trust me they tested , poked and probed things I never heard of. After the machine shop said the engine specked out fine the factory rep said put a new engine in it and be done with it. By then GM agreed to buy it back and my 08 was on order. Got it back until the check arrived and it seemed ok. Lucky for me the service mgr was 100% in my corner and backed me up with all parties.
Brakes, trany, diff ; all examined and as a parting shot the engineer from BG was an idiot. The machine shop made him look like a fool. He tried to blame it on me saying it was abuse.

sometimes it's the simple fix.....A neighbor with a c4 went thru a new distributor, cam, water pump(when they did the distributor) said it was leaking on the distributor. When it was ALL said and done I looked at it and found a cracked spark plug in the process of doing a compression check. Shaking problem SOLVED
