Got some dissapointing news this mourning. My dealer called me after checking the current status of my order, when he seen that it had been moved back 4 weeks?!: Last week he called me with a production date of April 14th, now he's seeing May 12th.?
Anyone know why this has happened? I know there's some Bowling Green employee's on the forum, if I was able to provide a build order # would you be able to check the status of my order.
Dam, and the weather's just breaking here.......................
TIA
Mike

Reason: doh
It sounds like the Dealer might have been pulling your chain about actually having an allocation. I have heard nothing about any "stoppage" of production at BG. Call your dealer and ask him point blank whether or not he has an allocation and what your order number is. If he does a "tap dance" then he is not being truthful with you.
You might want to check with a Forum dealer like MacMulkin Chevrolet to get the real story. Tommy, Jr HAS allocations right now with DELIVERY in 6 to 8 weeks from now. His Number is 603-888-1121 or 603-891-3620
I know that does not help your present situation sicne you were promised a build next week. I despise dealers that lie about their allocations!

YEP, sounds like he is trying to be cool with an excuse. Just looked at my orders and ALL of my 4/14 build weeks are there still.
Have heard of no issues....thank god......
he very well may be waiting on allocation.....
Sold order does not mean you JUST get an allocation. I have open allocation and am at LEAST $1000 behind supplier on orders, if I may be of assistance. Thanks...and good luck!
I've got to raise the flag on this one. It sounds to me as if he didn't have an allocation or worse, sold the allocation to someone who may have been paying more. He baited you with a date and now is back pedaling.

I guess I'll have to clarify something to all of you..............
I'm from the Great White North, you know snow/ice/hockey/beer......
Unfortunately US dealers are barred from selling new vehicles to Canadian's...

That is a raw deal. I would skip your dealer and call GM customer assistance and ask them for more detailed information; it's a long shot but see if you can find a history of when it reached which status event code (and actually use that terminology so they can see you know what you're talking about).
If so you could find out when they accepted the order . . . if this date is very late it means your dealer was not honest with you. Also, I think there is an event code for "order changed"... the list is somewhere on this forum. That would push back your date (like if the dealer realized at the last moment he gave you free chrome wheels or something).
The customer assistance people actually offered to help kick my dealer's *** into gear for me so they have more of my trust now.

I wonder when dealers are going to realize there is this NEW thing called the INTERNET? People can do a little research and figure out pretty fast they are getting lied to. Dealers ought to smarten up and just be honest regarding allocations and build dates. BEFORE I ordered my car I came here and got the straight scoop on how the system actually works. A dealer like this should lose the sale simply because he lied to the customer...........
I also believe the dealer is blowing smoke up you know where. I would definitely talk to a forum dealer because I ordered mine from Tim at Boardwalk (he placed the order around March 3rd and it was built on April 1st). You would think it would be in the news if there was a hold up in BG. The only thing I can think of that may make the dealer right is that some truckers have "parked" their trucks. I think it was mostly independent drivers.
Your dealer could have just screwed up (and blamed it on the factory), never had the allocation and just lied to you, gave your allocation to someone else (either that paid more or a friend) or is telling the truth. I would guess the 2nd one. Get your deposit back and move on.

Kevin Whitaker in Greenville, SC did this to me...sold his allocations to customers who paid more than I did, and came up with the sorry excuse that the combination of options on my car were "holding it up". I cancelled the order and re-ordered through Boardwalk - Tim Boone. Picked up my car 6 weeks later at the National Corvette Museum. - and I got a better price than Whitaker's falsified deal.

Hey, what options did you order? The following was posted over on Corvette Blog last week. If you ordered the QX3 chrome wheels, maybe that is the problem. Can a forum dealer on here confirm the wheel constraint?
2008 Corvettes: This week again we see 3 national constraints on Corvette ordering. First, QX3 Chrome Wheels are completely constrained with 0 available. Secondly, 67U Machine Silver is unavailable to order, most likely built out for the year. Lastly, only 150 Z4Z Indy Pace Cars are available to order nationally.
2008 Corvette Z06: There are 2 national constraints on Z06's. Z44 "427" Limited Edition Z06 is now built out. The other constraint is the same as with the Corvette, 67U Machine Silver is not available to order.
