I'm pretty sure I know what this means, but what determines a dealers allocation? Why does one dealer get more cars allocated to them than others? Is the Corvette the only cars that are "allocated" to specific dealers by the manufacturer?
Also if you order a car from a specific dealer, how do you know that he still has "allocations" left this late in the model year?
Thanks as always guys
A dealer's allocation of Corvettes is determined by sales history - the more Corvettes you sell, the more you get. (Back in the early days of the C5, it was not uncommon for dealers to "boost" their allocation by buying C5's from other dealers to increase sales units.)
Any given dealer should be able to show you proof of availabilty - their allocation numbers are provided by GM to the dealership, I believe on a quarterly basis.

Just give me a call and you will not have to worry about allocation.
