I think those comments are ridiculous. "I got an auto because I'm secure in my manhood so I don't need to drive a manual to prove it." Pathetic. Kind of comments I expect from a 10 year old.

I drive a manual because I think it's more fun. Period. If you think an auto or paddle shifters are more fun, or you don't want to shift a manual in traffic, or you have a bad knee or hip, or whatever - great, enjoy your auto. Who really cares? If you got an auto so you can say "see, I don't need a manual to prove may manhood" you either aren't really secure or you just plain need psychological help.

As for the OP - just test drive both and pick which ever one you enjoy better. That's what I did.
Hahaha!!! this is still going.......Wow! I agree with you it happens every time we discuss this topic... but in all reality most comments are just for fun no matter how ridiculous it may sound.... after all part of joinning this forum is to have a good time away from our ride.
Enjoy your 6sp as I do.........( listen don't tell them auto guys how much fun they are missing hahahaha),

Got an "05/Z-51 stick and love it, setting at the light and slowly letting the clutch out and feeling that power of 1st. gear to wherever is a kick. Had a pro-street chevelle went to automatic because of not wanting to launch expensive motor. I couldn't help but remember the anticipation of getting in the car late spring and kinda having to remember how to do it all over again (shift). For me stick's the only way to go...

I fought over this option as well, and chose the MN6. It is all personal preference, and how you drive. The A6 is a $1200(?) option, and I decided to use that money towards headers and keep the $0 option MN6. Hope this helps.

I think vettes are good at both, 1/4 mile and track events, I like both the auto and manual, but remember, eventhough the auto lags, once you get use to the shift points it's great.

1. you never miss a shift.
2. only a seasoned racer can shift a manual faster.
3. a driver can brake later in an auto entering a corner, when I reach the braking markers I slam on my brakes while paddling down, the auto rev matches for me, no need to heel and toe, and I can concentrate on getting out the corner faster.

in a manual you have to worry about heel and toe, matching your revs so you don't upset the handling of the car in the corner, the auto's are easier to drive.

1. just remember what marker to hit the brakes hard, paddle down and then find the apex and accelerate out of the corner, simple, and never worry about missing a shift.

at the 1/4 mile, launching is easier and you never miss a shift.
