I've got nearly 2000 miles and only once has my CAGS ever kicked in. I'm averaging about 23-24 in mixed/spirited driving...a pleasant surprise for sure!

Don't feel bad. You are correct - the others are wrong. There are ways to drive these cars, still pretty much respecting speed limits, but taking advantage of its stunning acceleration and handling performance. However... most Vettes I see are just boulevard riders - they might as well gotten an Aveo and plaster it with C6 body panels, for looks only.
