2008 BMW M3
2008 Infiniti G35 Coupe MN6 Sport
2008 Lexus ISF
2008 Nissan 350Z Nismo
2009 Pontiac G8 GT
While yes, only two of the above have a V8, they are all available in a manual trim, and produce over 300rwhp*. As I have yet to purchase my Vette, I considered all of these vehicles while shopping. Let's start, then!
First off we have the BMW M3 pricing in at a base model cost of 56,500USD$, packaged with a cloth\leather interior trim, a 6-speed manual, and power seats. Just a bit pricier than a 2008 Corvette Z51 Convertible. The M3 has a high-rev 4.0 V8 (Revs peak at 8300), producing roughy 360rwhp. The BMW M3 is a two door coupe, which is also available in 4-door trim for 53,500.
Next on the list we have the Infiniti G35 MN6 Sport, priced at a "modest" 43,600USD$ with the optional "Technology Package" (Heated seats, power windows, power seats), revised for this year model, it now has a 6-speed manual transmission in place of the previous years 5-speed paddle shifter, and provides a small increase in horsepower, from 260-odd to 270-odd, though there is a noticable lack of torque. The interior is nicely done, along with the overall lines of the car. This vehicle is also available in a 4-door and AWD trim, with the 6MT Sport Sedan at 34,000 package free.
Third in line we have the new Lexus IS-F, priced at 56,000USD$, once again almost a competitor to the M3 more so than the Corvette, but still in the same range. While this is not the only vehicle on the list that is sedan-only, I gave it a chance much like I would the G8: 4-doors, and nothing in it's price range can blow them off. Moving on, the IS-F produces 417hp at the crank, which is made by a 5.0 V8, and a top-speed of 170. Not bad for a four-doo. The transmission in the IS-F is a 6-speed Automatic.
Fourth, we have the relativly new Nissan 350Z Nismo, available in 'base' trim for 38,290USD$, relativly well priced for something with quite a bit of bang to it. The Nismo is powered by the standard 3.5litre V6, paired to a 6-speed manual transmission, making 306rwhp. Some things that set this appart from the standard 350Z is the carbon fiber drive shaft, along various "Nismo" products, including Nismo wheels, exhaust tips, and interior.
Finally, we have the Pontiac G8 GT, priced at 39,990USD$ (Usually around 42 after markup), this is quite a bargain, even new, for a 4-door, RWD Automatic. Making roughly 340rwhp, this sedan can run the quarter mile in a top of 13.9 seconds. Powered by an LS matched to an automatic transmission, the vehicle is easy to drive, and mean when you need it to be. The interior is a new style for Pontiac, and incorporates a very modren\futuristic look, as well as a speedo that goes to 180.
So there's my comparison, folks! Feel free to add to it\rip it appart\tell me I'm wrong. Critisism is welcomed.
This comparison on cars is the same thing....the C6 simply looks the best to my eye!

And...if you want a Vette, get a Vette. If you wanna be a part of a Community...get a Vette. If you're worried about what Consumer Reports says about your sports car...then don't get a Vette...you won't be happy with it.
Perfect. In my opinion, there is zero comparison features on any of those cars vs. a C6 Corvette........ you either want a sporty family car or a true world class sportscar.
Case in point: Lexus ISF - 416hp, 3780lbs, BMW M3 coupe - 414hp, 3704lbs, Corvette - 430hp, 3217lbs. The Lexus and BMW are heavy enough to be compared with the Ford GT500.

I just went out and bought the C6 and let the others do the comparisons while I set the standard. That is my attitude!
