Default Halltech Killer Bee: Any issues with "check engine" light?

Hello. Anyone have the Killer Bee set up on a LS3 and experience the dreaded "check engine" light?

I just wondered. I am considering going this route, and I have read about the possibility of this occuring with the Vortex Rammer.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!

No check engine light for me. Have about 500 miles on it.

None so far with about 400 miles. Jim Hall of Halltech did a good job in design and build. The "Killer Bee" is a quality unit and Jim Hall stands behind his products. I have installed the intake on my 2008 LS3 coupe. I wanted a quality product without cutting up my shroud and to have the ability to return to OEM at any time. The install is 15 min. and easy. The "Killer Bee" gives more throttle response from off idle on up. The K.B. was dyno tested by Katech Engineering to increase 12 RWHP and 11 ft. lbs of torque. I believe these numbers are accurate.
No, I have not tested a before or after on a dyno. My butt dyno is all I need. I bought my K.B. from Southern Car Parts, they shipped it the same day, very reputable company and a pleasure to do business with. Contact Jim Vose of Southern Car Parts, a corvette forum sponsor.

you just can't claim HP increases with an intake. I never did understand this. Ever car is different. The only way to actually get a realistic gain from an intake is to have a tune done. You could actually lose HP with an intake and no tune because of the computer retarding timing.

My thoughts exactly.

I've got 3,500 miles on my Killer Bee.
I also have the Vette-Air.
I'm very happy with both of them.
You can buy the combo with both for about the price of the Killer Bee on the Vette-Air website.

Jim at Halltech & Carlos at Vette-Air are great guys to deal with.
Just shoot either of them an email & you'll get a quick response.

Katech Engineering was involved in the designing of the LS7. They are a third party that did a dyno without a tune. I have also seen dynos from independent sources with the same results.
I agree, a tune would give further hp results, however, there goes your warrantee. I also know that at 84 degrees ambient temp., LS3 pulls timing. Again, my criteria was to not to cut the shroud, as long as I am moving, outside air will enter my air box.

I agree. I had a Halltech on my 00 and loved it. One of these days when I get off my lazy butt I will be putting one on my C6.
