Removing Interior Trim Piece
OK, need a little help here. I purchased the steering wheel spoke caps from Jersey at APSIS and affixed them with interior plastic trim adhesive. Both sides fit great, and after the initial set was delivered with a bad color match (Monterey Red Metallic - tough to get just right) he replaced them with a second set that's just perfect. However, on application the left side has a flaw in the paint that didn't show up until I already had it mounted. The finish is blistered and raised along about 1/2" of the bottom, and definitely won't polish out. Jersey has generously agreed to replace it, but now I have to remove it. I'd like to try and get it off in one piece with as little damage to the steering wheel spoke as possible. So far I've tried dental floss (seemed to work for a little while, ended up shredding). I'm thinking that fishing line will be my next step. Any suggestions as to how to proceed, or what else to try?
