I use shell gas because its right next to me house and I have been using it for years. The other day I see it says 10% ethanol. Should it make a diffrence? I use 93 but I was thinking of changing to a diffrent company. I know it sounds petty but I was just wondering.
Thanks
It should work fine. There have been reports of 2008 models having difficulty with brands other than Chevron in Texas. A member is doing a gas test with BG. I haven't seen any issues with the LS2 cars.

I used it by accident this weekend in my Harley, when I saw the sign it was too late...maybe it was all in my mind, but I noticed a drop in power, not a lot, but even the engine did not sound the same. I'm staying away from it, as long as I can.
thanks for info I just filled up so it will be a couple of days but I am going to try and diffrent gas company and see if there is a diffrence ill keep u posted.

I don't think we can actually find gas without ethanol in Texas anymore. Ethanol is actually good for performance, and will not hurt your engine - they are designed for it. For the record, my 08 LS3 dynod at 390.5 with 10% ethanol in it.
You can google plenty of good information. Here is one...
The reason ethanol is being used is because it's a replacement for MTBE, which was deemed as a potential hazard by the government and had to be phased out of all pumps.
I noticed on a recent driving trip to TX from S FL and back that my average mileage decreased around 2 MPG after putting in 10% ethanol gas. We don't have it available much in S FL ( a few 5%) stations. The average has since gone back up since I returned to 0% ethanol. Didn't notice any problems with the engine performance.
In Missouri, only 87 & 89 have Ethanol, 91 or 93 are Ethanol free. My worry now is how using this in a Performance boat and storing it over the winter.....
Gas stations here in Northern Wisconsin have just started going to 10% ethanol in their gas. I always buy Shell. It's premium gas, 93 octane, doesn't have the ethanol, just 87&89 octane blends. Thank God for at least that.
I think the northerners have had 10% ethanol for quite awhile now. I am sure one or 50 will answer. Sunoco still doesn't have ethanol near me.
We've been running the 10% ethanol blend for years now. I've used it in my C5 and my C6 without any problems. We basically can't get gas up here that doesn't contain the 10%. You should be all right.
