Default Venting - Difference

Guys, what's the difference between a $55,000 Escalade and a $55,000 Corvette.

Neither car "cares" if it gets dirty.
Both are mass produced on assembly lines with plenty of parts available.
Corvette is both quicker, faster, and for the most part more economical.
The Escalade carries more people.
The payments are the same.

If you own one of each, do you "treat" the Corvette differently? Why?

I own a 08 CRM coupe. It has it's own personal door in my garage. I own an 07 EXT and A 07 Escalade SUV. Both of the caddy's cost more than my vette (2lt). But the vette still gets the most personal attention.

Trucks are trucks and a vette is ........well, it's a vette. Nuff said.

I paid roughly the same for my Tahoe as I did for the vette, and I treat the Tahoe like a red-headed stepchild compared to the vette... go figure. Maybe I think the Tahoe can take it and the vette can't.

Because the Vette is an aspirational car for many people. A truck is not. We tend to care more for those cars that we love, and we treat the utilitarian vehicles as just that - tools.

Until we got the C6 Vette a few months ago, we took better care of the Tahoe which is just over a year old. Now the Tahoe gets very little attention other than a quick rinse off at the car wash. I think the Tahoe is jealous and it may try to harm the new baby, so we keep them in separate garages.

I have a friend who has a Z06. When another friend of ours got a lexus, he was miffed because no one cared or said anything about his new lexus. So he made sure not to show any excitement about my vert or her Z06. Everyone else made a big deal over both her vette and mine. All wanted rides in them. Not one wanted a ride in the lexus. And the way she explained it was perfect...she said that his lexus was "just a regular car, not special like a Corvette". This says it all! Price has nothing to do with it.

I cannot imagine smiling at an Escalade every time I walk in the garage. Maybe a Ferrari, Lambo, or AM, but then my Corvette is the true American sports car!

My Lexus LX 470 used to get regular TLC. Now that there's no more room in the "man room" (2 vettes and the wife's Lexus sedan). Now, it takes too much out of me to keep all 4 vehicles looking new. So, the vettes get very regular care, the wife's car gets weekly care and the suv get occasional care. It also occupies a spot on the driveway now that the 3-car garage is full. I guess the vettes just naturally, justifiably or not, get more attention. Just the way it is.

One is a cool car, and the other a big old heavy bloated brick shaped thing with wheels.
