Default Window Problem

1200 k, got in car and the window wouldn’t close. It would repeatedly lower and rise, about at the index position. Only way to stop it was to lock door. Well then the door wouldn’t unlock, had to go though the passenger door. Got back in by doing it manually, started the car and the door would unlock, didn’t do anything for the window issue.
Got on the forum and of course this wasn’t the Vette first Rodeo on this. “Deejaydu” had the answer. Took off the door handle, unplugged the door switch (5 minutes) disassembled the switch & wiped down the contacts. Back in business, didn’t have to index the window either.
I washed the car a couple of days before and covered it in the garage (CoverKing Satin Stretch). Maybe it trapped some moisture even though switch looked bone dry. Anyhow saved me a trip to the dealer, I hope.
Brought in for its first oil change, they put in 8 qts rather then 6, service manager said no they put in 7, ticket had 8, and I drained 2. So of course my feel good about their service department I had, and made my selection to order the car because of, is no longer there.
Thanks for the post “Deejaydu”

Glad you got it fixed. Other forum members are sometimes more helpful than the owner's manual for some things.

Someone else a while back posted that his dealer's service department put in 8 quarts during an oil change, too. What is that all about? Is there a service manual the dealer shops have that has some bad info?

What's 1200k?

And if it happens again, there is a TSB on the issue, graciously provided by Ken Fichtner:
