Default First New C6 Vette

This is my first post as I just recently joined the forum. Before I ask for advice I just want to thank all those that contribute to this forum. I have learned a lot already and the expertise gained from all of you here is impressive. (Nice pix too).
Ok. Hope to be taking delivery from my dealer in the next few weeks so I am trying to get stuff together. Front plate bracket for the Vette plates I already have, car cover and oh, the money to pay for it. I want to order the Ziano starter kit but the question I have is should I give it a complete detail and wax with the Z2, 5 , 6 etc when I get it home or should I wait a certain amount of time? I have bought from this dealer in the past and they have always done a great job in prep but probably not the way I want the Vette to look.

Very much appreciate any advice you offer.

Oh, a few details. Crystal Red Coupe 3LT, 3 pedal, NPP, z51, no NAV, want the Ipod jack. Hope to participate in upcoming events. V9s, missed out on the 3's when the order was placed.

Congrats on the new C6.

With 3 pedals you mean a 6 speed manual right?
Just checking

Yes, 3 Pedal = 6 Manual.

Thanks for the responses, planning to take a few days off to wax and drive. (As soon as it gets here)

Welcome to the Forum!!!!!!! Congratulations on your new C6!!!!!

Just a thought for you. Anything your dealer puts on the car, in the way of wax or whatever, you will have to remove to do the Zaino. It would be in your best interest, in several ways, to tell them to NOT detail the car. Plus you will likely spare yourself at least a few, if not many, swirls by keeping them away from it. JMO. Good luck.

congrats I have the same car and love it as I am sure you will as well. don't forget to order your M2W from Ed, its a must mod. as for the wax question, I use Maguires newest product along with their detail kit. Seems to work well for me on the CRM.

Congrats! I Zaino'd mine the weekend I got it which was about 18 days after it was built. Panels are usually sprayed one week prior so I figured 25 days is good enough.

Zainio is a great product. I have used it for the past 7 years and have had great results. I waited 30 days after the production date before I applied Zainio to allow the clear coat to cure. This is what I used :

1. Liquid Dawn only to use once to wash the car prior to waxing.
2. 3 coats Z-2 with the ZFX flash cure accelerator.
3. Z-6 detail spray between coats of wax.
4. Z-8 final detail spray for show shine look.

Make sure you have a couple of clean waxing pads and plenty of micro fiber towels.

I have Cystal Red also, Zainio will make the metallic flakes look 3D.

Congrats!
