Default Home From The Bash

Made it home safe and sound from the C5/C6 Bash today. Nice drive. Put around 950 miles on the new Vette and I think I averaged around 27mpg for the whole trip. It sure was great being around so many people that love the Corvette. Such a great group of people. I will for sure be going back next year.

We Forum Members need Corvette Forum T-Shirts so we can spot each other!

A special thanks to Paul (talon90) and his wife Becky for taking the time to show my girlfriend and I the ropes of the Bash. Thanks also for allowing us to sit with you guys at both dinners, Friday & Saturday nights. And yes, I do have to thank you, so just take it and say your welcome! Paul introduced me to (2) fellow forum members that also sat with us at dinner, Johnodrake and RadarP3C. Two great guys that I am proud to know.

(Edit) On the way through Indianapolis, a guy in a 4 door BMW pulls up along side and wants to race. I just smile and shake my head no. He flips me off and then floors it. I just laughed. What a dumb ***!

Below I have attached a picture of a little item I picked up at the Museum Auction yesterday. It is a picture of the new ZR1 that has been placed on ceramic tiles and then framed in oak. I was able to have it signed by Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter and Retired Plant Manager Wil Cooksey. When Tadge signed it, he said that it looked awesome and that he had never seen anything like that. That made it seem kind of special to me. It is something I will always treasure and it is already hanging on my wall. Please don't ask what I paid for it, as it really does not matter. The only thing that matters is that the money went to a good cause, Support of our wonderful National Corvette Museum. Thanks again everyone!

A ZR1 plaque in the best color. I'll bet it looks good on your wall.

And a big thank you to you too for taking and sharing those great pics. And don't say aw shucks. We appreciate it.

Evening Michael,

I'm glad that you and Shirley made it home safe. It was our pleasure to spend time with you both. I love the ZR1 mosaic that you bought, great item and of course the money goes to a great cause. Looking forward to seeing you at many events in the future.

Sweet pic Michael! It was great to share with you as well! No one wanted to race me on the way home (thankfully) but I did get a from a guy on a Harley.

I guess I took pictures of your car and then posted them here on the forum and did not even know it was your car. Then I met you at dinner. Seems like the "Corvette Gods" thought we were suppose to meet! Take care my friend.

Thanks, MIchael, for the pics you took and writeups. And that surely is one special buncha tiles, I'd say. Very nice looking.

I may try to make the next year Bash...

Damn Swiftrider08 Paul (Talon90) has a hard enough time as it is getting his head through doors All kidding aside I've had the pleasure of meeting Paul and his wife a couple of times last year and they are some of the nicest people you can meet.

I too was at the Bash. Round trip for me was 1,050 miles. I was very impressed with the gas mileage as well. 27.4, warm days, 93 octane top tier Shell gas, hilly terrain from Bowling Green to Michigan. My wife and I were very impressed with the gas mileage in a 436 hp car.

Just got back to NJ from the Bash and we had a GREAT time. I totally agree we need Forum T-shirts or badges. Even though I had the CF decal on my car, we didn't spend too much time near our cars - a badge or shirt would be great.

Already looking forward to next years.
