iPhone Interface Solution
I use it almost exclusively in the manual mode and shuffle songs on my iPhone. If a song comes up I'd rather not listen to at the moment, a quick double punch of the nav seek button advances to the next song in line. I initially used the drink holder to hold the phone when connected to the SCOSHE but that was unsatisfactory so I checked out the ProClip website. They did not at the time have a holder built to connect the SCOSHE cable but they told me they would soon have one.
The cable is basically the same one used by USASpec, and ProClip now has a swivel holder that accomodates that cable. I installed one yesterday and I am really pleased with the overall unit. When I enter the car I just slide the phone into the holder. SCOSHE immediately "wakes up" the phone and it starts playing through the radio if I have XM as the source selected. I can turn the phone fully on and set it to the iPod page if I want to manually select songs from the face of the phone. It is oriented nicely to see while driving and is pretty quick and easy to operate. Here are a couple of pictures of the installation which, as with the SCOSHE unit itself, took about 10 minutes to complete.

There is probably a better way to route the cable but this worked to initially get the unit working. I gave up long ago making MP3 CDs since they are such a pain to set up for the nav unit to read them properly so it is nice to now have a very convenient way to listen to high quality mp3s and add them quickly and easily through the iPhone.
I was hoping I could let the passenger watch videos on the phone but the SCOSHE unit puts a volume control block image in the middle of the screen during video playback which pretty well messes up the image. I've a couple of times been able to eliminate the image but can't figure out how it happened so I can't do it consistently. If anybody figures out how to do that, let me know.
