After my second try i think i finally got it. I didnt want to add a regular alarm to my C6 because i didnt feel like having to walk around with an extra key fob. I called to ask around a few stereo shops and everyone gave me an instance response of no it can't be done. Finally i got a hold of this one shop that had installed my avic-d3 and said they should be able to do it. If you try and open the door with out the fob the horn beeps a few time (window valet). And if someone were to break a window or something the factory alarm starts to go off. Also there is a blue led light on top of the center dash that blinks whenever the ignition is off to alert people of the alarm. I do wish the sensor were more sensitve, i think i might be able to adjust the sensitvity. I'll try and post pictures as soon as i get a chance. I'm in long island ny, if anyone needs contact info for the shop please let me know. I'm not sure what the rules are for non supported vendors.
I for one would like to know more. My other cars have shock sensors, which i love. For the next six months, my Vette will have to be parked outside. Lots of kids in the neighborhood. My Camaro alarm has been set off a few times, which saved its hide. Please let me know the make of the alarm. I live in Morristown, NJ, so maybe there is someone close to me. send me a PM if you can. Thanks.
I was very impressed with this shop, they got it right on the first attempt. I had originally taken my car to some other shop to try and do this and yes it worked but my windows were acting all flaky. They would index anytime a shock was detected by the car. I picked up my car last night and played around with it for a while and didn't notice any issues problems like that.
