Default Hud G-meter Question

This is going to sound like a stupid question and I'll probably get bashed on by some of you but what is the g-meter in the hud??

What does it "tell" you exactly? :o

I believe it is lateral force in a turn.

That's correct it's the lateral forces. Let me add to the question, How do you get the max G force after you shut off the car. I've seen it before but forget how to get the display.

Hold the "page" button to recall the highest recorded lateral G reading. If you turn the car off, you lose the memory though.

You can't get it after you shut off the engine. Until then, you can get it by pressing and holding the PAGE button.

Measures the forces put on the car or you in a turn. Fighter pilots experience G forces up & down as well as sideways. You've probably heard of G induced black outs. When a pilots blood rushs out of his head and into his feet during manuevers causing black out. Don't worry hasn't happened in a car yet, not even a Vette which can reach .98G with Super Car Tires.
Hold Page button for several seconds and it will display max G achieved for that trip. I believe it resets to zero once car is turned off. Have fun hitting max G's

Simply put..."g's" measure gravity, and even more simply, 1 "G" equals the same effort that the earth is using on your body all of the time.....if you hit 1 lateral "G", it means that you are feeling exactly the same measure of gravity sideways that you are downward.....in other words, at one lateral "G". if you COULD stand sideways on the door of your car on a bathroom scale, you would weigh the same as you do standing up....
One "G" is one thing, but think about the pilots that routinely hit 7 or 8 "G's". A 200 pound pilot would then be exerting the force of 1600 pounds in whatever direction they are experiencing the "G's".........
