Just not sure I understand the morbid fascination with looking at wrecked cars and potential sights of someone meeting with an untimely demise. To each their own I suppose.

I've now seen three accident sites posted here on CF in the past 4 or 5 months, and I'm very sad for the occupants, drivers and others. I did not open the url for MORE pics. Enough, really is enough. I agree with Talon.

I disagree, it should make us drive safer knowing what could happen if you don't, although I agree, the pics of cars where people died are not fun to look at, the Ford GT where the guy had about 18 miles is pretty fun though

You disagree with the fact that I don't understand folks fascination with it?
With all due respect I don't have any need to have someone wreck their Corvette to realize that I can wreck mine. If someone doesn't have a healthy respect for the power that this car has then they will find out the hard way. Of course, then they can get on a wrecked cars photo site and others can learn from their mistake.

No one said anyone died in these crashes. I know some of them do say that in the crash someone died, but I don't think that was the intent of the thread. I believe the intent was "how sad, a totaled vette".

let's focus on how we can operate our cars and enjoy them in a responsible manner. all this material does is give the insurance companies more fodder to raise rates, etc.

For me, it's not what you stated. For me, it's to put things into perspective and make me realize that I need to drive more defensively. There are a lot of bad drivers out there - I don't want to be one of those drivers and I don't want to be in an accident with one of those drivers.

After looking at quite a number of those photos, a some things come to mind. First, a car does not "go out of control" by itself. Second, far to many of these crashes have a very strong element of driver error; too much horsepower for the skill and judgement of the driver. Third, I see alcohol is involved in quite a few of these crashes. We all love to drive our Corvettes, but we must drive responsibly. JMHO.
