Default bugs INSIDE headlamp assembly?

I was just outside admiring my car and noticed it seems bugs are UNDER the lens and on the painted part of the headlamp? How'd they get in there?!

Wow, that's a bummer. The lens assembly is vented to allow the heat to escape. It would seem that an enterprising bug found it's way in probably in an attempt to nest or stay warm. Getting them out however will be very difficult.

Interesting post.

Keep us informed how this turns out.

Seems like the vent system should be some sort of "one-way check" that must have malfunctioned to allow this vermon intrusion...

I think i'm an idiot LOL, some of the "marks" were clear and a wipe of the lenses from the outside has gotten rid of 99% of the marks, however there is a light amount of dust in there...

however, I took the top off and started it for lunch and to my surprise, I heard a heatshield or something metallic rattling slightly on the underside of the car for 10 - 15 seconds

....if you hit the gnats, GM will tell you that would be considered an accident. Did you get a police report stating who was at fault?
kidding.

I have dead ants in both my 08 headlights. Dealer says they will try to blow them out of sight with air. I'm waiting for first oil change. Otherwise I said already I wanted new system. The ants were present at pick up. Car came off transport truck with ants.

Otherwise no other problems from the ants they are gone now, except from inside the headlamps.
