I picked up an 07 cpe with Z06 exhaust. It has a valve behind the mufflers that appears to open and close. Is this the NPP option and if so, how do you actuate it? I didn't get any additional remotes with the car.
Thank You for your help!
Regards,
Dean
NPP "dual-mode" exhaust option didn't arrive until 2008. Previous owner must have swapped out the OEM for the NPP. It opens an exhaust valve in each muffler momentarily when you start the car, and also opens the valves under acceleration at 3500 rpm, and then closes the exhaust valves when the rpms drop below 3500. Butterflies open via computer controller signal when RPMs reach a certain level. or, you can install a bypass to open and close them on demand, available from LG Motorsports (manual switch) or Mild-to-Wild from nakidparts.com, remote switch.
Thanks for the reply's. I am waiting for the guy I bought it from to email me back. We had it on the lift and the butterfly was open when the car was turned off.

Assuming that your car is not a Z06...
If it has the Z06 Exhaust, you can control the butterflies with the NPP in a box from Ed (Pipedreams) www.nakidparts.com. I have that setup on my car and it works great. The unit is a small vacuum pump in a box with electronics and installs in the right rear cubby. On/Off is with a wireless remote. There is an option to have it open/close via rpm but I don't have that option.

I should have stated, it's not a Z06. It is supposed to be an 07 Z06 exhaust. As I mentioned, they flaps were open when the car was turned off.
Others will correct me if I'm wrong but I think it stays open when the car is turned off because there is no vacuum produced by the engine when it is off. So the normal state is for the valves to be open when the engine is not running. Thats why it is open momentarily when the engine starts also.

Thanks, I will check it out tomorrow with the car running at idle.
