My new coupe has a buzzing noise that comes from the dash when the car is moving. If I grab the upper left corner of the instrument panel (just above the tach) and lightly pinch down on the dash surface, the buzz disappears. Has anyone else experienced this? If yes, is it a simple fix or warranty work?
Based on what I learned from replacing the console with the painted kit, the front dash face plate that has the DIC control pods pushes into slots under the dash with metal clips. The plastic material that the dash piece is made of seems to be very brittle plastic, and can chip when pulling out or pushing in the part that clips in there.
So...I say take it to the dealer. It could be a bigger mess then where you started if you start taking this stuff apart to mess with it.
YES! I've got exactly what you are describing on my '07 coupe. I've thought about taking the console and dash apart to fix it because it's annoying as hell. Regardless, I haven't done anything about it.
Sometimes it's worse than others. When it gets bad enough that I finally think I'm going to do something about it, it goes away for awhile.
My 06' does it sometimes. I thought it may be from blasting a few rock songs. But when I hold it the buzzing disappears. Is there a recall out for this?
I had it and it is annoying. I was debating on taking it to the dealer until I found out how easy it is to remove the bezel. I removed mine, made sure everything was tight and positioned right, installed it and the noise went away.
Thanks for the quick responses. I may try looking into it closer this weekend. I really don't want to leave the car with the dealer. I was on business travel for several days last week and was suffering from C6 withdrawal. All I could do was talk about the car.
