Is the Corvette x-pipe ......

Alone good for better growl? I'm not into shakin' my booty ... I would just like some deeper growl. Is it worth it for a couple of hundred bucks?

With the Corsa Sport exhaust the BB X mid pipe reduces deaccel burble but IMO does nothing to enhance loudness. I assume any X mid pipe would be the same.

Not likely. The X-pipe will better balance the flow and the back pressure of the system. It won't do anything for sound. As an example, the 2008 model cars now all come standard with an X-pipe from the factory. With the stock mufflers you won't notice much in increased volume on a stock system of an '08 over that of an '05-'07.

The best sound IMHO is the H-Pipe. The X-Pipe allows for better exhaust scavenging and gives the car a more exotic sound. The H-Pipe has more growl and one reason why Mustangs sound good.

I noticed a decrease in the 'gurgle' from my Flowmasters after I installed the headers and X-Pipe, no real noticeable change in sound, just less gurgle on deceleration..
