Default Competitive Driving Mode

The console button on my 2006 C6 MN6 Z51 vert controls two systems:
Active Handling (AHS) and Traction Control (TCS). So what is Competitive Driving Mode (CDM)?
My search thru CF archives yielded many threads and many opinions. Three main opinions:

Competitive Driving Mode is ....

opinion #1: AHS on, TCS off.
opinion #2: AHS on, TCS less intrusive.
opinion #3: TCS off, AHS less intrusive.

My owners manual supports opinion #1. There is no indication in the owners manual that either TCS or AHS has any mode other than ON/OFF.

In the CDM section, the owners manual states:

"CDM allows the driver to have full control of the rear wheels while the AHS helps maintain directional control of the vehicle by selective brake application." (owners manual p 4-12)

The AHS description above is nearly identical to the AHS description in the AHS section of the owners manual:

"The AHS .... helps the driver maintain directional control of the vehicle .... by selectively applying any one of the vehicle's brakes." (owners manual p 4-10)

If opinion #1 above is correct, and the owners manual is correct, that raises the question:
How is CDM (two button presses within 5 seconds) any different than TCS OFF (single button press)?
Other than, with TCS OFF, an icon illuminates on the speedometer, but in CDM, the icon remains dark.

Can somebody authoritatively define Competitive Driving Mode?

CDM is TC off and AH parameters loosened to give you more yaw control. Option #3 in your scenario)

This is an excellent question and something I was wondering myself as well when I first got my C6. I talked to a friend of mine that has a C5 about this (C5 is different) and I believe that we came to the conclusion that your opinion #3 is correct.

I'd like to hear from someone who really knows though...

Are the owners manuals not in these cars anymore? Or is it just no one takes the time to read them.

Of course I have an '07 Z51 (manual) and I keep all of the nannies on, however, what is the best mode for a quicker (and safe) launch. Or, is there a such thing?

And with an A6 it boosts trans line pressure for quicker, firmer shifts and later shift points. (From what I understand-I believe this to be true)
