I think the corvette engines in the c6 especially the LS3 are very underrated. I think they put out more than what is written. I have had people describe my vert (stock mind you) as "extremely f*ckin fast"!
I dont drive fast, but once in a while I snap into it when I have a passenger for the first 2 gears and their reactions looking for something to grab is priceless!

What kind of numbers did you put down with the mods listed in your sig? Stock intake?

haha, My car feels like my 2000 GT until I look at the speedo and realize i'm at 80mph and need to ease up on the throttle I can only have fun for like 5 and a half seconds
Here's a newsflash-You will have more HP to the wheels when you get up to speed and the VARARAM kicks in!!The dyno does not register the VARARAM because you are standing still!
No joke!!! Aftermarket exhaust doesn't even give much power(maybe a few rwhp). So, basically it's just the addition of an intake and tune. I can only get 91 octane, so those of you running 93 octane will get even better results!
It is important for your SOTP.
I worked in an oil refinery for 26 years and used to chat with the blenders amist the knock engines testing for octane.
Knock sensors on the Vette detune the parameters with low octane fuel. Not sure if that is the case at HIGH altitude. Maybe that is why they only sell 91. Here on the Gulf Coast Shell V power was once 94 octane. and my '
00 Vette knew it. andy New Orleans

I think the "feel" of the acceleration also has to do with the gearing. When your hitting almost 50 mph in first gear, I'm guessing it feels like less push than if the car was geared to redline in first at, say, 30 mph.
I think the most deceiving part of my LS3 powered Vette is that other than the new for 08 wheels (which only Corvette folks will recognize) and the larger exhaust outlets of the NPP (again probably only something a Corvette enthusiast recognizes) there are no badges saying mine is any different from a LS2 or has any more power.....pity the ricers that pull up beside me!
I drove an 05 Vette A4 and I thought it might have been a little quicker than my headers GTO on the street, but definately not quicker in the 1/4 mile (I ran a 12.1 with the GTO).
I decided to test drive a new manual and 6 spd auto. Immediatley I knew that it was a lot faster than a 12.1... damn thing scared me.... so I bought it
