This may be asking a lot, but I figured it's worth a shot. I just purchased a 2005 C6. I'm having some troubles with the shifter (I'll save that til later) and before I do anything, I first need to know what shifter I have.
The dealer I bought it from had no record of it, they just told me it's not stock. I'm hoping someone on here may have the same one and recognize it. The previous owner took great care of the car and put some other quality mods on it...so I'm thinking it's a decent shifter.
I heard it's a pain to remove the center console on the a convertible. Does anyone have a link to instructions on how to do so in case no one knows what it is?
My local Chevy dealer said it's definitely not stock. Stock doesn't have the aluminum arm.
(you saved me from noodling through my photos of upgrades, where I know I have saved some photos of some shifter change-outs that might have also included the stock item as a 'before' picture.... never had the boot off of my own, so wasn't sure...
If you're having a problem getting into first gear it's not the shifter it's the syncro something or other. Some 05'S have had some issues w/1st gear.
Tell us the problem.
