New Light Found???
I looked in the owners manual and can't find out what this light is, I just found it while after installing my MGW shifter. It is where the passenger sun visor attaches to the car, right next to it is an amber light (LED) that lights up when car is running and ebrake on, I have not tried different variations to see when it comes on and goes off.
Just curious if anyone knows what this light is for.

Someone asks this on a weekly basis, it's a cabin light, that has now been discontinued, GM thought is would be nice so it's not so dark in the cabin.

2007 owner's manual, page 171, under the heading "Reading Lamps."
An ambient light is located in the passenger sun

OMGGGGG another post about the amber ambient light. What else would the light be for other than the give a nice ambient light to your center console at night?? lol is it that hard to figure out?
Also, have you never been in any import vehicle? BMW, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Toyota etc etc etc.. They all have them. Actually Corvettes have even had them all the way back with the C4 from what I have read. I know my 99 and 03 C5's had them.

This question seems to always be asked by jr members and barely sr members. If you are not going to take the time to read your owners manual, then you can expect to be spanked on occassion! Really don't think anyone is trying to be harsh, just that this question comes up so often, it is really crazy. Would just about bet that it is the number one question asked here on the C6 portion of the forum.

I read the forum most days, but miss some threads too. How hard is it to answer a question. I'm sure if you called the DMV with a question and someone yelled at you through the phone because they get asked that question 50 times a day you wouldn't like it. I thought we were here to help each other.
