I know I read something about an A/C TSB before (perhaps related to a change in coolant type) but despite spending a ton of time with the search, I cannot find it.
I have an '05 vert which means normally I don't use A/C as the top is down. However, it has been over 100 degrees here so I have been leaving the top up and using the A/C. The A/C is not working correctly. It keeps cycling where I will manually have the blower set to the highest setting and it will run at that for say 20-30 seconds and then throttle down to very low (the bars still show full though) for 20-30 seconds or longer then it will go full blast again and the cycle continues. While it is doing this, the air temperature goes from warm/hot to cool. This happens whether the car is moving or if I am sitting at a light.
I could swear I remember some issue about very hot temps and the coolant being the wrong type for that, but again I cannot find anything.
Yes it sounds familiar. The dealer should have a record of this if it was done. I don't have the TSB number but someone will or look under FAQ and it might be there.
